Tin toys are the product of imagination and skill, each toy is hand-made and goes through a significant number of processes to arrive at the end result.

The people who design and create tin toys often use the everyday things around them as inspiration and re-create them in tin adding in clockwork mechanisms to animate them.
Maybe a day at the speedway led to the creation of our racing car and motor bike or a trip to the fairground sparked the development of our beautiful horse carousel.

Tin toys come from a time before batteries, computer chips and electric motors so each toys moving parts are bought to life by winding them up.
It is fascinating to wind the key of the hopping squirrel, hear the wiring motor and watch as it bounces up and down. You can actually see all the cogs and gears turning in our dancing robot as the designers have left the robot open so you can see inside, it is fascinating to watch and listen and such a clever piece of engineering.
